BP has some of the worst gas you can possibly run. Typically I am always adjusting the ignition timing in my car from day to day - just to push the limit and run it up to its peak performance. I have noticed that the Citgo stations have THE best gas in town. Shell, Mobil, Chevron - all are mid-grade fuels and BP is not even an option for me. Typically I can tool around town running Citgo 93 octane and run 24 degrees of timing advance (this is actual timing, not base timing) without any ping. When I run the three midgrade fuels (also 93 octane), I can only get away with about 21 degrees, and with BP I have to knock that down to 19 degrees to avoid detoantion. BP is by far the crappiest gas around. On the same note, I have also *heard* that Jaguar specifically states in the owners manual NOT to run BP fuels. =)
